Introduction

This course will develop the learner’s job skills by teaching different techniques of business correspondence. It will cover various aspects of preparing a resume, attending a job interview and adapting to the work environment. It will also provide the learners with the knowledge required for effective business correspondence and employability skills

The Business English course aims to improve your English language skills in the business environment or the workplace. This course is suitable for professionals and individuals who want to excel in work environments where English is used for communication. The course will help you to improve your business vocabulary and grammar and will focus on different types of business communication Teaching you appropriate English in the work environment.

Learners are expected to have acquired the basic knowledge of the general English language before studying this module. Before starting Business English (The minimum level of English required is B1).

This course enables you to practice English in a business context and understand the language needed for meetings and interviews.

This course is available at different times throughout the day from morning until evening. Taking this course is a good step in your career if you want to work in an English-speaking country or environment.

Course Description

Business English is a three-level, integrated-skills Course.  Each level is designed to be easy and enjoyable to teach. Each unit features integrated skills and language practice. In addition, practice sections allow students’ progress to be measured. Business English aims at pre-work experience, university or vocational college students. It is designed specifically to meet the growing demand for workplace English in the region.

The course is available upon request only.

An initial General English course will be required before starting Business English (minimum English required is B1).

  12. Business Vocabulary and Usage of phrasal verbs and
  13. Business idioms
  14. Develop and use language skills in a business context

Significance of the module for your programme

This module supports the learners in developing the communication skills needed to succeed in a job. The group work enhances their academic skills including research strategies, report writing collaborative skills etc. Individual assignments enhance their confidence and analytical and communication skills. Learners engage in doing case studies, preparing reports and making PowerPoint Presentations which develop their creative thinking and improve their language and presentation skills.
